Use of data and legislation
When using data, it is important to act in accordance with applicable legislation. It is entirely your own responsibility to deal with this appropriately (see, among others, articles 12 and 16 of our general terms and conditions), but we would like to advise you. Depending on the purposes for which you want to use the data, the following rules apply, among others - but not exclusively:
Email marketing
The Telecom Act (art. 11.7) describes the rules on sending e-mails. Electronic messages and newsletters advertising a product, service, particular idea or charity may in fact be spam. How to avoid spamming? Make sure you comply with the conditions. Read more.
Non-mailing indicator
Some of the organisations include a Non-mailing Indicator (found in your selection in the column NMI). These organisations have registered with the trade register register that they do not wish to receive physical mail or door-to-door visits at their at the registered address. It is important to respect their wishes. Read more.
Telephonic customer approach
Should you wish to use your selection for telephone acquisition, it is good to know that if you want to approach potential customers by phone with a commercial, charitable or idealistic message, under the Telecommunications Act permission must be obtained in advance, unless there is a customer relationship, or if it concerns a legal entity. This rule applies to all natural persons and this includes, besides private individuals, sole traders, VOFs, partnerships and limited partnerships. Privacy law
Since 25 May 2018, the GDPR has been in force. These European regulations relate to the processing of personal data. Proper compliance with this legislation is an absolute necessity. Explore your business target group in a few simple steps. Choose the desired combination of filters to closely match your target audience. Filters chosen? Then go to 'Export' for immediate use or save your search first for possible reuse of the same filter combination.
Use the essential filters to filter your target audience by company-specific characteristics, such as: Industry, number of employees, legal form and number of branches.
Choose the filters that are relevant by using the choice lists and/or the tree structure based on the Dutch SBI industry code list.
The essential filters can be used with any licence. Separate selections cost €0.08/record, regardless of the number of filters used.
Use the property filters to further specify the target audience at the location level, such as: property type, floor area and energy label.
Pledge filters are available free of charge with the 'Pledge' licences. Separate selections cost €0.12/record, regardless of the number of filters used.
Use location filters to unlock the region in which your target audience is located, such as city, postcode, municipality and region.
Location filters are available free of charge with all licences. The industrial area filters are available free of charge with the 'Premium' licenses. When selected individually, the general location filters cost €0.08/record and industrial area filters €0.12/record, regardless of the number of filters used.
Use the additional filters to refine the target group for the purpose you have with the data.
If you choose 'Yes', you choose to select only organisations where this data is on file. If you choose 'No', on the contrary, you filter out all organisations with this data in the database. By default, all extra filters are set to 'all', regardless of whether this data is present. For your convenience, all bankrupt and deregistered organisations are set to exclude. You can change this below.
