Membership DDMA

As an international supplier of business data, we find ourselves in the middle of the dynamic playing field of an ever-changing world. New data sources, changing customer demands, technical innovations, artificial intelligence and changing laws and regulations, are constantly on the move. To know what is going on in the market and, where possible, stay ahead of the market, it is necessary to constantly keep a finger on the pulse. The DDMA is the largest Dutch trade association for data-driven marketing, sales and service and plays an important role in this for CompanySpotter.

The DDMA provides an important knowledge platform that can provide us with expertise, personal advice and informative meetings, as well as the opportunity to network with relevant parties. On the other hand, we ourselves bring years of experience from our many clients and their marketing and sales challenges and the accompanying practical challenges. We are happy to share this knowledge with the DDMA network in order to be able to offer added value within the industry.

The Privacy Warranty

An important part of membership in the DDMA is accreditation to the Privacy Warranty. This is in the hands of the DDMA Privacy Authority. The Authority decides on the granting, rejection and withdrawal of the Privacy Warranty, as well as on the renewal of the Privacy Warranty. The Privacy Authority selects and appoints its own members as well as the chairman. The appointment is ratified by the Board. Using the Privacy and Security Checks which are part of the audit, the DDMA Privacy Authority assesses whether an organization sufficiently safeguards the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the (Dutch) Telecommunications Act in its processes and applies the basic principles for fair and careful processing of personal data.

The Privacy Check tests organizations on the following principles: Openness: we are transparent about what data we collect, what we do with it and why. Comprehensibility: we communicate in clear and understandable language. Accuracy: we ensure that customer data is up to date and in order. Expertise: we have the knowledge and skills for responsible data use. Chain responsibility: we only cooperate with partners who handle data well. Accountability: we are accountable for what we do, including mistakes. Grip: we give stakeholders control over the data we process about them. Desirability: we take note of how those involved want us to handle their data and whether we comply with this.

The Security Check checks whether and how data security is organized at the organizational level. The Security Check includes the following components: is there good governance? How are the operational processes organized? How is employee access and authorizations arranged? Is the organization ISO certified?

Based on this audit, the DDMA Privacy Authority determines whether an organization may use the DDMA Privacy Warranty. Participants receive, in addition to a message about the accreditation, an extensive report with concrete recommendations for improving processes. For CompanySpotter it is important to test all its processes and to make visible to all stakeholders that privacy and due diligence are deeply embedded in the core of its business operations.
