CompanySpotter is a Dutch company aiming to relieve the frustrations surrounding sales, marketing, search engines, prospecting and lead generation with a search engine for businesses.

Working with CompanySpotter?

With CompanySpotter, we enable our visitors, users and clients to intelligently search very locally (or, conversely, completely internationally) for exactly the right match with respect to their business target audience. Searching and finding organizations that match precisely in various aspects, without the search results being influenced by an underlying business model. Organizations including their corresponding up-to-date contact details and downloadable within seconds. Meanwhile taking into account privacy regulations and at an extremely competitive price. Everything the way we would like it ourselves.

So, are you looking for all pet stores with a web shop in your area for your locally developed organic dog treats? Want to know which stores sell products from your biggest competitor? Do you help companies solve problems as a result of outdated software on their website? Are you looking for restaurants for your new POS system? Want to help all the bakeries or dry cleaners reduce their energy costs? No problem. Within a few minutes you can already be talking to your next client.

Why CompanySpotter?

The idea behind developing our own search engine for the business market came from the desire to gain insight into business target groups in an innovative, detailed and user-friendly way. With this, we wanted to enable organizations to find and connect with each other. Our plan was to provide organizations with exactly the right tools to define and select their target audience with a high degree of accuracy.

Regular search engines are not new, of course, but they have the major disadvantage that their revenue model affects search results. In addition, certain specific searches are simply impossible and the data is not easy to export in bulk. And copy-pasting everything all day is very labor-intensive and mind-numbing.

On the other hand there were suppliers of business data based on national trade registers. Lots of data, but the vendors rarely offered the detailed and in-depth searches we were looking for. We also noticed that contact information (especially phone numbers and e-mail addresses) was in many cases not as up-to-date as we would have wanted. At the same time, we also became annoyed by the fact that you couldn't search through various countries in a unified way because a different dataset was available for each country.

So, with a little frustration and stubbornness, the necessary perseverance and a good dose of entrepreneurship, we came to the simple and challenging conclusion: we need to build something ourselves! And here we are.

Our guiding principles

When we started making our plans about what CompanySpotter should become, we always started from the following guiding principles. All the choices we made can be traced back to these principles.

  • We offer high-quality services at a low (and fair) price, so that both large and small organizations have basically the same resources to map their business market. In doing so, we create a level playing field and contribute to a healthy business environment with sufficient competition.
  • Our services should work simply, quickly and intuitively. We are aware that many of our customers are no data wizards, but rather creative entrepreneurial minds with a feel for marketing and sales. We want to provide maximum support to these people by offering them tools that they can quickly and easily work with themselves. For the real data wizards, we ensure that our "toys" remain interesting enough to achieve extraordinary results.
  • By providing detailed information about organizations, we increase the chances of relevant contact and successful collaborations. Consequently, we reduce any nuisance of irrelevant contact. There is no longer any unnecessary hailstorming. This reduces costs (increases profits) and contributes to a positive image of one's own brand.
  • Finding potential customers and suppliers should be as easy in your own city as it is to find them on the other side of the world. Allowing organizations to connect very locally can reduce logistical costs and contribute to socially responsible goals. While other organizations may actually derive their very existence from a much larger and international market.
  • 'Privacy by design' and 'Privacy by default'. With a growing global focus on privacy, we have chosen from day one to put privacy at the heart of how we operate. We focus entirely on company data and follow the standards of the GDPR should this data coincidentally also be personal data. We adopt this approach even in countries where privacy regulations are not present or when a lower standard regarding privacy applies.
